The project
The project consortium (partners) consists of 6 European companies located in
France, belgium, the Netherlands and Germany.
Our ultimate strategic goal is to set a worldwide standard for payment for IP content or software
use according to the slogan: FairPay.
PAIDFAIR is an abbreviation for Protecting Accumulated Intellectual Data for
Accounting in Real-Time and
describes the main goal of the trial.
The protection and accounting innovations use latest encryption algorithms like AES (Rijndael) and ECC (Elliptic
Curves Cryptography), and public key schemes for secure downloading of usage credits. One accounting hardware can be used independently
by many vendors for many products.
Our technical objectives are demonstration systems in fields of secure electronic software distribution and Pay-Per-Use, distribution
of music content, e-payment and authentication integration with Smart Card, IP Distribution through broadcast/multicast
and satellite communication, biometrical authentication and secure downloads for open Multimedia Home Platform (MHP)
set-top-box.
